We went to Boston. I honestly don't remember why I put down the numbers that I did (when we were choosing where we wanted to go). But I ended up with Boston.
I. Really. Dislike. Camping. The bugs. The lack of cleanliness. The tents, the rocks, the dark. It's not fun for me.
So, Wednesday morning, I woke up. After eating cereal, we packed up the cars and were off. I didn't care where I sat, or who I sat by. I'm not picky in that way. Although, now Andrew probably thinks that I am schizophrenic, because I didn't talk much in the car, and when he asked me why, I said I didn't feel like I had to, because I talked in my head. Now. Let me just explain my answer. Some people feel like they have to fill the silence- I don't. I don't mind not talking. I'm more of a listener. So when he asked, and I said I talked in my head, I just meant I think. I just think about whatever- where I'm going, the houses I'm seeing, what I had for breakfast, my friends or family- you know, just anything. So when I think, I hear my voice. Maybe you know what I mean, maybe you don't. Perhaps sometimes, when you think of someone or a past conversation, you can hear that persons' voice. Perhaps you cannot.
Well anyway, the car ride there was rather uneventful. For the most part.
I was glad when we got to Boston College and were able to get out of the van. And then I realized what I was in for. After sitting through a never-ending information session, we had to go on a never-ending tour of the campus. Okay, so the campus is really nice, but it's huge. I'm not interesting in going to a large college. The tour was not fun for me.
But eating lunch was. I was hungry. I could sit. That was a nice break.
Until I started dreading the next college visit. The ride to Endicott was okay- because I was sleeping for the greater part of it. But when we got there, I was amazed. It didn't seem to be a huge campus. The ocean was basically right across the street. And the campus was even nicer than BC's! I did not mind the tour. (This time I wasn't hungry, I was slightly re-energized from sleeping, the campus was small, and we were the only ones on the tour.)
I liked the second college visit.
Later, we arrived at the campsite. We set up the tents (the girls beat the boys, of course), and were hanging around waiting for Megh, Andrew, and Kaseem to come back from buying food. By this time, we were all hungry again. And a couple hours off schedule.
Now. Get this. The only fun things that we budgeted for were mini golfing and seeing Harry Potter. Since we over-spent on food, we couldn't go mini golfing.
So on Thursday, we walked around Quincy Market. It wasn't terrible. Seeing a few street performers was pretty fun. Later, we ate lunch in the Boston Common, which was also alright.
I won't get started on my opinion on Harry Potter, but I will say that I did like the movie theater. Since the theater in Springfield burned down (side note: wtf, it's the home of the Simpsons, how could that happen?), the only movies I'd seen had been in the Claremont theater, and so going to this theater in Massachussettes was fun, because it was big. I'd never been in a theater like it before: each row was a step higher than the last, the seats were actually comfortable, and it was a nice change to be able to see the screen without someones head blocking it. :) There wasn't much leg room, though. Hah.
On Friday, we went to the mall. I didn't have much money- I hadn't had too much money to start, anyway- but it was alright.
I was in a bad mood on the car ride back- I just wanted to be home to UB! I was tired, bored, etc. So when we finally got back to Keene State, I was pretty thankful.
I guess the whole trip wasn't a bust: I did like Endicott and walking around Quincy Market and the Boston Common wasn't too bad, but I sure was glad to be home.
[Go Anna, this was my longest blog yet :D]
