Yesterday, for Thursday electives, I was in Perspectives with Liz. We walked down to the gazebo park place in Keene, up the street, and our assignment was to write about what we saw and heard. All was good and well, though it was kinda boring, until something rather scary happened. I didn't see or hear it, but I noticed some of the people in the group get up and stand staring across the street, so I got up too. I didn't know what was going on, until I saw the man lying on the sidewalk across the street, and heard the shocked sounds in the peoples voices around me. Liz had seen it happen and run across to help. It seemed like it took forever to the ambulance arrive, but I'm sure it must not have been that long. The elderly man had fallen, whacked his head on the ground, was knocked unconscious for a bit and was bleeding from the head wound that was from his fall, and apparently had thrown up a bit. It was very scary. And saddening.
Liz told us that the man would be okay, but for the walk back, most of us were still pretty shaken up.
