At the beginning of the summer, my sister, Jess, my brother, Nate, and my step-mom's brother Andrew all got six-day passes to Six Flags.
Last Sunday, my sister didn't have a friend to take, so they took me. My mom ordered me a ticket online, and even though my sister had told my brother this, my dad didn't know and he ordered me a ticket, too. This meant that we had to go twice, before the end of the season, which was going to end the next Sunday.
So we went on Sunday, and we waited two hours for the Bizarro. I am terrified of heights, so I kept saying "Never again, never again, never again" in my head.
We didn't have much time for more rides, especially since all the lines were so long. We did go on the Comet, though.
Also, we paid ten dollars to go in the "Haunted Mansion" and through the "Midnight Woods" or whatever. I get scared easy, but these "attractions" weren't really worth it.
We planned to go again on the next Thursday that was coming up, but the park wasn't open that day. So we had to go on Friday, since Saturday was Halloween, my sister's birthday, and the day of my sister's last cross country meet. We didn't want to go on another Sunday, especially since it was the closing day of the season.
My sister saw online that the park opened at twelve, and since it took two hours to get there we would leave at ten.
I decided to go to school anyway, to see my friends and get the classwork and homework for my first three classes. My brother picked me up at ten, and two hours later we were at Six Flags New England.
But the parking areas weren't open, and there was no one around...
My brother went to the park entrance only to learn that the park wasn't open until five.
So we had five hours to kill.
We were not very happy.
We drove around Agawam and then ended up in Connecticut. This was pretty cool, I thought. Then we went to some weird, boring mall and walked around doing nothing.
Four-and-a-half hours later, we were back at Six Flags. People were here this time.
They let us into the park, but then security was blocking the main walkways until five o'clock.
Nate led us closer to the front of the mob, so we could all hurry to the Bizarro.
When security let people by, people pushed past one another. It was crazy.
Once at the Bizarro, there were more security people there to make us wait even longer.
But finally they let us in, and we were really close to the front of the line. Apparently Jess, Nate, and Andrew all wanted to be in the very first row of the ride, but I knew I didn't. I am terrified of heights; and even being in the second row would be more of a relief for me, because at least I would have a pair of seats to look at in front of me. But Jess and Nate would not budge, both of them wanted to ride in the very first row again. And Andrew hadn't ridden in the first row yet, so he wanted to.
I was in quite the predicament. We waited, and waited. It was not too long, especially compared to the two-hour wait last time. Jess and Andrew finally climbed into the front seats, and Nate and I were going to wait for the next one.
They were off, and I set to begging Nate to change his mind. I was freaking out.
He wouldn't budge, so I made him promise to not taunt me as we were going up, and to let me hold his hand. Yep, I wanted to hold my big brother's hand even though I'm fifteen. (:
The next ride got there, and Nate and I climbed into the very front row. The tracks and open sky was all that was in front of me. I started shaking out of nervousness.
As we slowly begin our ascent, I grabbed Nate's hand and squeezed my eyes shut.
It seemed to take forever to get to the top, but I wasn't about to open my eyes and see where we were.
Then, I felt us slowly creeping over the edge, and my body was facing down. I braced myself, and as the back car came over the curve, we gained speed and we were going down. There must have been more ups and downs, but I don't really remember. I peeked my eyes open, and ... found that I was enjoying myself. As the camera approached, Nate stole his hand away so he could have both hands up in the air for the picture. I was okay, though. It turned out I was really only afraid of the original ascent and descent. For the rest of the ride, I enjoyed myself.
We went through the tunnel, and past the fire. Some more curves, and then we were wrenching to a stop.
My hair was a mess, but I was smiling.
Before the ride, Nate had said "You'll regret it if you don't go in the first car."
I don't know about that, because I wouldn't have known what I was missing. But I certainly did not regret riding in the very first row.
Later, we went on the Batman three times, the Mind Eraser once, and the cheesy Catwoman's ride.
This time was certainly funner than the last. (:
